Document Imagaing

Document Imaging Software converts paper documents to digital content and stores the resulting information in a central computer server. Document imaging software eliminates the problems associated with paper, such as loss and damage.

A good document imaging system stores more than just digital images of the documents. OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology automatically extracts text from the images for full-text searching. Document Properties (metadata, tags, index fields), provided via data entry or Zonal OCR, can be associated with the images for faster identification and retrieval.

As a browser-based document management software system, Content Central™ doubles as a complete document imaging system. After installing Content Central™
on a Microsoft? Windows? server, each authorized user interacts with the application using a standard Web browser. Content Central™ contains a browser-based capture interface, (DirectScan™), barcoding tool for batch paper capture (QCards™), and data-entry interface that can be accessed locally or at remote locations.

Scan Paper Using Your Web Browser with DirectScan™

QCards™ contain barcodes used to separate documents and/or identify them during batch capture of paper documents. Each QCard™ is printed and placed on top of one or more documents.

These documents are then scanned to a network location for Content Central™ to process. After interpreting a QCard™, Content Central™ discards it and produces a fully-searchable PDF document complete with full text and any associated document properties.

Pre-Capture Coding QCards™ allow document properties to be entered before the capture process.

These index fields are displayed on each QCard™ and automatically associated with the respective document when converted to a PDF file.

Post-Capture Coding QCards™ can be used one or more times to separate documents during capture. Content Central™ converts these documents to PDF files, and routes them to the Coding Queue where document properties can be added to the documents.
